Gareth At IWFF Winter Nations Tournament

The Winter Nations Tournament, organised by the International Walking Football Federation and Wales Walking Football was held at the University of Wales Sports Ground a few miles North of Cardiff.

Over 300 players, 8 nations and 27 teams of Men and Women competed, including teams from England, Wales, a United Celts team and even a Caribbean team.

Our Gareth played for Wales over-65s. Their first match was a narrow 0-1 defeat to England with Wales having 2 or 3 chances to score. Second game was another narrow defeat 2-3 against Utd Celts. Their second game against England ended in another 1-0 defeat with Gareth missng a great chance to equalise in the last few seconds. A second game against the United Celts finished 0-0 with Gareth appearing to score a goal that was disallowed for running! Apparantly everyone on the side of the pitch said it was a shocking decision....
