OWFC committee would like to inform members of Bill Harper's retirement from the committee.

In 2019 three Boavista players, Bill Harper, John Swires and Ian Street wanted to form a new walking football club with the aim of providing fun football for all and having a positive effect on members mental and physical wellbeing. Odiaxere Walking Football was formed and became part of the Odiaxere FC family. The first session was attended by 12 players, a long way from the current membership of 115, covering 13 different nationalities. The Club has a website and a Facebook page and has developed it's own Code of Conduct and Club procedures. The Club regularly compete in friendlies and regional tournaments and have achieved a number of successes.

Financially €13,500 has been spent on football related matters. €2,000 has been donated to charities including a defibrillator for our parent club. With members safety being paramount the Committee procured training to qualify 6 first aiders and provide the necessary first aid equipment. In the past 6 years the club has also had to navigate through the Covid Pandemic.

All members of the original and current committee have worked hard to get the club to where it is now.

Bill Harper, as one of the original founders has worked tirelessly throughout for the club.

The Club would like to thank Bill for his significant contribution in getting OWFC to where it is today.

Bill will remain an active member of the playing community. Chris has taken over Bill's responsibilities, and we will look to appoint a new committee member in due course.

The Committee.
